The Venue: Valley of Fire

What more can I say about Valley of Fire?  Its one of the most gorgeous national parks that we have.  And for sure, it is a dream for all Las Vegas wedding photographers to shoot there.  When I visit the park to shoot a wedding, its hard for me to stay focused because its just a relaxing place to be, I struggle to keep the energy up!  It certainly feels like you’re a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the strip.

Allison and Mike wanted a unique, intimate, desert location for their ceremony that would look and feel like a whole other world compared to where they’re from in Canada.

This location NEVER disappoints!

The Ceremony

I arrived at the predetermined spot within the park a bit early so I could scope everything out and pick the perfect angles for the ceremony.  Mike and Allison arrived in style in a gorgeous red Corvette.  I was immediately jealous.  😉

Its always so special to be privy to a private ceremony.  I felt very privileged to be their witness and as they exchanged vows, the tears started flowing.  It was adorable!

Vegas is perfect for these types of ceremonies.  They allow you to get away, and make the day completely about you as a couple.  They allow you to focus on yourselves, in the moment, without any stress or distractions and just for a moment, you’re stuck in time celebrating the life you’re about to live with each other.

Thinking of Getting Married at Valley of Fire?

Here is some helpful info you’ll need when planning!  Most importantly, you need to remember that this is a national park that is run and maintained by the Bureau of Land Management.  In order to have your ceremony and photos taken by a professional photographer, you’ll need to have all of the proper paperwork and permits.  A permit to photograph there is around $50, and if you opt to have your ceremony there as well you can get a special ceremony permit that will also cover photography.  Make sure your photographer has adequate liability insurance as well, as the BLM may require it.

In the mean time while planning YOUR wedding, enjoy these photos from Allison and Mike’s special day!
