I’m a big nerd, right? Like, we already knew this. So I love photo locations where I can totally nerd out. This ghost town is one of those places. EVERY TIME I shoot there, I nerd out. Nelson’s Ghost Town (or its ACTUAL name which no one can pronounce: Techatticup Mines) is one of my absolute most favorite places to photograph. Not only is it so visually interesting, there are little nuggets sprinkled all over its property for a photographer to play with (ie. a piano in the middle of the desert). The owners of this gorgeous little mining town are always SUPER nice, and unlike most venues in Vegas where people want their photos taken, this venue only charges a very minimal ($10) photographing fee!

Lets gush a bit more about Nelson’s Ghost Town. It has several barns (one is an extremely unique 4 story barn), tons of old cars, buses, and trucks, and random crap everywhere! And don’t get me wrong when I use the word “crap”, its all really COOL crap!
It makes for incredible photos.
Now, take all of the above, and throw in a ridiculously good looking couple and you’ve got the perfect recipe.
Brittany and Johann are getting married next May. They wanted really unique engagement photos to announce their union, and of course they have great taste, so off to Nelson we went!
We had so much fun during our session. The light was perfect. It had been storming all day, and we were all a bit worried about the weather, but it cleared it right in time for our session, which made the skies GORGEOUS.
Brittany’s mom and sister accompanied us for our session and not only did they give us some good comic relief, but they both assisted me with photos! (Bless them!)
