Las Vegas Photography Locations That You’ll Love

gorgeous las vegas photography locations collage of wedding couples

If you’re not familiar with Las Vegas, you may be thinking of cheesy wedding chapels where people get married via Elvis and a drive-thru, or maybe you think the Vegas Strip is the only location that offers unique wedding photos.

Luckily, Las Vegas is about as eclectic as a city can get, and it has SO MUCH to offer in the way of photography locations and venues. So sit back and relax and take a look at some of my favorite places for taking wedding pictures in Las Vegas sans the Strip!

The Neon Museum

Want your “Extremely Vegas” fix without having to brave the Strip? The Neon Museum (aka the Neon Boneyard) might be for you! Not only is it one of the most iconic locations in Vegas, housing some of the most famous neon signs from hotels and casinos of yesteryear, but the experience of having your photos taken there is amazing!

The museum staff closes their entire museum when couples choose to have their photos taken on property, and that makes for an intimate and fun experience. Not only are you getting some of the most recognizable backgrounds for your photos, but you’re also getting the whole place to yourselves, which is totally awesome. Here is a great article regarding the Neon Museum, and all the info you might need to decide if this is the right photo location for you!

The Neon Museum has three separate galleries to choose from, and offer photo sessions by the half or full hour. The museum has pricing for photo sessions beginning at $250. Contact me for more info if you’re interested in having your photo session at the Neon Museum!

Nelson’s Ghost Town

One of my favorite locations that Las Vegas has to offer, the Ghost Town in Nelson is seriously a historic gem. The official name is Techetticup Mine, located in El Dorado Canyon; the Ghost Town is surrounded by hills that are sprinkled with Cholla cacti pretty much everywhere you look.

Not only is the surrounding desert gorgeous, but the owners of the Techetticup mine have amassed quite the unique collection of vintage cars and airplanes (yes, you read that correctly, they have vintage airplanes to pose next to!), and their collection sprawls between rustic barns and buildings. If you choose to have your photos taken here, you’re truly in for an adventure!

Valley of Fire

If you want sheer natural beauty to accompany you in photos, Valley of Fire may be the right place. Located about an hour and fifteen minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, Valley of Fire is a sight to behold. Fiery red and orange rocks that look straight out of a painting will be your backdrop while the wildlife may photobomb your pictures. Lookout for all of the lizards, quail, and big-horned sheep.

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, consider having your photos taken in Valley of Fire where you’ll not only get gorgeous photos, but you’ll also get to relax and take in the beauty before you! Click here for even more information if you’re wanting your photos taken at Valley of Fire!

Valley of Fire requires a $50 photo permit. Let me know if you’re interested in having your photos taken in Valley of Fire!

Downtown Las Vegas

Downtown Vegas is the location I suggest to couples who still want a “Vegas” feel to their photos, but who don’t want pictures taken on the Strip. Indeed, downtown Las Vegas is where the locals go to hang out, and it’s easy to see why. Local bars mixed with street art and unique architecture draws people in and creates a charm unlike anywhere else in Las Vegas. Have your photos taken in front of world-renowned street art, while also grabbing drinks and adventuring through all the unique locations downtown Vegas has to offer!

It’s true when you hear someone say that Vegas has something to offer everyone. If you’re stuck on inspiration or don’t want your photos on the Strip, consider some of these great locations for your upcoming photo session!
