5 To-Dos The Week of Your Las Vegas Wedding

You’ve made it to Vegas, you’re ready to party, and you’re SO ready to say ‘I Do’ to one another. The days leading up to your wedding day, especially in Vegas, can be a sensory overload. Make sure that these super important details don’t slip through the cracks to ensure that you have the smoothest (and most fun) wedding day ever!

Pick Up Your Marriage License

When you get to Vegas, you’ll have to take a trip down to the Clark County Marriage Bureau to pick up your marriage license. Be sure to bring your IDs with you, and be prepared for the fee which is $77.00

You’ll receive a big white envelope with several pieces of paper in it. Bring it all with you to your wedding, and give it all to your officiant. Some couples mistake the decorative copy of the marriage license (which looks like the official ornate marriage license but is not legal in any way) as the only important piece of information to bring with them, and as a result, their ceremony has to be postponed until all the proper paperwork can be given to the officiant. Just be safe and bring the entire envelope and its contents with you!

Communicate With Your Vendors (Like Me!)

Actually, over-communicate with us. Give us an hour-by-hour timeline so we know exactly where you’d like us to be and when. If you have a wedding planner or coordinator, you can give them a timeline to pass on to the rest of your vendors. If you don’t have a planner, your photographer (yay, maybe me!) is a great person to help knock a good timeline out!

Make sure to confirm all important details with vendors, and never assume that we know something that hasn’t necessarily been outright communicated. Always err on the side of ‘there’s no such thing as TOO much info’!

Have Your Wedding Attire Prepped

If you’re traveling to Vegas from out of town, particularly if you flew in, your wedding dress and suit may have gotten a bit wrinkled. Most hotels offer a steaming service. Make sure to prep your attire making sure it’s absolutely picture perfect BEFORE the big day. You’ll have so many other things to worry about on your wedding day, getting all the wrinkles out of your dress and making sure your suit is perfectly pressed does not have to be one of those all-important details to worry about right before you walk down the aisle!

Pack Properly

Vegas weather can be BRUTAL! Make sure to pack accordingly to survive your big day. A few bottles of water, extra makeup, a ‘dab’ rag, and extra shoes are all recommended to make sure your wedding day goes swimmingly! Check out this blog post on how to make a DIY Bridal Emergency Kit so you’re completely prepared for any scenario on your wedding day!

Hand Off Important Items

Have a best man? Make sure you give him all of your rings before the ceremony. Make sure the officiant has all of your paperwork. You can also give your vows to your best man and maid of honor or your officiant. There’s no reason you need to be hanging onto all the important stuff! A good idea would be to prepare and pack everything important the day before so all you need to remember to bring is your bag with all the important items in it!
